Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Blue Penthouse 2 - Recently Renovated - Oceanfront, Indoor Lazy River, Pool has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
