Getting the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the perfectrental home:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Forest Plaza 708 - Oceanfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
