How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Forest Villas A318 - Oceanview! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
