How to book the best vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Ocean Front Two Bedroom Condo, Myrtle Beach (2148646) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
