Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family choose dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Front Views! Camelot Resort 1011 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
