Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • First, have your family decide on the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean View 3 Bedroom Condo at Family Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
