Rental home booking tips:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. OceanView 3BR Condo 8th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
