Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the largest rental within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Perfect Beach Getaway, 1 BR, 1.5 Bath Condo at the Beautiful Ocean Creek Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
