How to find the best vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Myrtle Beach Bowl
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
