Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Quaint condo-10 minutes from the beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
