Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Quiet, Updated First Floor 1200sqft Condo 2bd 2ba has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
