Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 1 Bedroom Ocean Front has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
