Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Recently Renovated Condo 1\/2 A Mile From The Beach + Free Attraction Tickets! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
