Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Relaxing 2 bedroom, 2 bath, Oceanside Condo, which is 80 steps from the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
