Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for local tours and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Spacious 3 bdrm condo at Magnolia Point MB has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
