Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect rental home:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Relaxing 2BR Unit with Pool View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
