How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 1st Floor, Corner Unit - Awesome Location! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
