How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Royale Palms 1405 3 Br Oceanview w/Pool & Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
