The Neighborhood:
Ocean Dunes 1 is located in the heart of Northern Myrtle Beach (not North Myrtle Beach, though its 15 mins from there as well) at the intersection of 75th Avenue North and Ocean Blvd. Within walking distance there are multiple eateries, a fun arcade for kids and adults alike that is open to the public and of course, THE BEACH!! Our community has a pool that is 50 feet from the front door of the town home. There is a Starbucks within walking distance of the property and bicycle lanes up and down Ocean blvd for when you are ready for some exercise and fresh air. In our opinion, this is the nicest area of all of Myrtle Beach!

Getting Around:
We recommend a car for the location, though you can definitely get around by bicycle due to the bicycle lanes on Ocean Blvd.

Rental booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and picking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • To start, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • 1\/2 Block to Sea has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
