Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. SeaGlass Tower™ - 1 Bedroom Standard - Limited View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
