Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and picking the perfectrental:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Condo in Atlantica Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If not, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
