Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Spacious Ocean View Elegance 3 Bdrm Condo 3rd Flr has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your family.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
