How to book the best rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Spectacular Ocean and Coastline Views Condo, Carolinian Beach Resort 14th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
