Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Unobstructed Ocean View from a Gorgeous 2BR\/2BA in Dunes Village on the 4th fl has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
