Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your group choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Updated 2 Bedroom Unit with Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
