How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Waterfront Luxury 2/2 @ AAA Four Diamond Resort - by Luxury Beach Rentals! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
