Rental booking tips:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Waterway Viilage 13H has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
