Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Welcome to Magnolia Pointe 4887-103- located at Myrtlewood Golf Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
