How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family select trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Welcome to Magnolia Pointe 4887-103- located at Myrtlewood Golf Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
