Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 3 Bedroom Cottage with a short walk to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
