Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 3 Bedroom Ocean green Cottage with a short walk to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
