Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 3BR/3BA Ocean View-Just Updated! King/King/Queen + Sleeper Sofa-Beach Locker! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
