Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 5705 Ocean Lakes 3 bdrm\/2 bath has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
