Myrtle Beach rental home tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, email the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
