Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • To start, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Give in to this 1BR Oceanview Corner Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
