Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Selecting and booking a perfectrental:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Double Queen Suite with Immaculate Oceanfront Views- Sea Mist 20405 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
