How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Luster Leaf Villa +Golf + Modern Premier Condo! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
