Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. New, Oceanview Suite - Caravelle 504 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
