Tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo! Sleeps 10 Guests! Compass Cove Mariner Tower 1216 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
