Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. West Hyde Park 21D in Kingston resort,Pools, Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
