How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the rightrental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. BEACHSIDE 2 Bed 2 Bath Condo with AMAZING OCEAN and SUNSET VIEWS. July 4th OPEN! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
