Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful Ocean Reef Resort 1219 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
