Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful Suite with an Ocean Front View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
