How to get the best rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Family Suite w/ Angle View of Ocean + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
