Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose the perfectrental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Spectacular views, oceanfront, immaculate condo, unforgettable sunrises! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
