Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 2nd Floor Beach Getaway: Oceanfront Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
