Vacation rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. $150 activities - E-gift card when you book - Oceanfront Every Room
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
