How to book the best vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. SLEEP 18, Elevator, Close To The Beach, Pool, Game Room - Tuscan C has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
