Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the rightrental:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fantastic Ocean View in a beautifully decorated and UPDATED FIRST FLOOR condo ! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
