Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Newly updated two bedroom condo in Myrtlewood has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
